With thanks to ace guitarist, singer John Wright, we are now happy to announce the full line up for next week’s fundraiser, at none other than the legendary Wednesday Session at The Grapes.
The fundraising evening, marking Mental Health Awareness Week (9-17 May 2026), will kick off with the Wednesday Session house band, headed by Johnny on guitar and vocals, with Mal Hyde-Smith on drums and Robbie Stewart-Matthews on bass.
The amazingly talented Mark Shepherd Band picks up the guest spot straight afterwards – we are so looking forward to hearing them live for the first time. Their set will be followed by a raffle in aid of Mind Cambridge at 10 o’clock – don’t miss it, it’s going to be short and super sweet. Check back for details of some superb prizes which we’ll post on these pages in the next couple of days.
The evening will be rounded off by the house band, as above, joined by the formidable Jonno Stanford on lead vocals, Henry Baker on guitar and last but by no means least, Sandor Botos on harmonica.
We’ve posted up a video, kindly filmed by Roger Murfitt, at the World Mental Health Day fundraiser for Mind Cambridge at The Grapes last year. It features Jonno Standford and Johnny Wright together with Lee Charles Phillips on bass and Mal Hyde-Smith on drums and gives you a flavour of things to come.
