We’re delighted to announce the grand total of funds raised at the World Mental Health Day benefit for Mind Cambridge.
We’re thrilled that the evening was so well supported and cannot thank the audience enough for their generosity. Times are tough yet so many bought tickets in support of their local charity shop. You all rock!
Angie Collins opened the evening with a delightful selection of songs from her beautiful repertoire, delivered in her sumptuous velvety tones, peppered by pitch-perfect keys, and the most engaging and somewhat mischievous lyrics. Angie was accompanied by her band, the wondrous Bête Noire, with Fabian Bonner on bass, and Ezio Luneidi on guitar, both supreme artists in their own right.
Mr Griff and The Grifters delivered a blistering set of favourites, and introduced their evocative new track, Dawn’s on Parade, with 50% funds dedicated Mind – be sure to download it and let’s watch the sun rise on its success! The spectacularly dynamic Mr Griff, vocals and keys, was accompanied by his high octane band The Grifters, with Booga on guitar, Gav Sirisena on bass, Phil Cambridge on trombone, Pete Stanton on keys and percussion , Stefan Tumber on drums and Janett Hunold on backing vocals – a supreme mix of talent.
We’re proud to announce that ticket sales, combined with donations total £1770!
With thanks again to the superlative talent and enthusiasm of the bands and artists, Mr Griff and Angie Collins, who animated this incredibly busy and entertaining event; our lead sponsors, Peter Graham Wines and Grape Passions; our highly recommended and fabulously efficient printers Cambridge Printing.com; Will Hill for pulling his best poster design yet out of the hat. Last but not least, thanks to brilliant The Portland Arms‘ Steve, Sam, Chris, Chris (sound tech) Debbie and Kelly, for seamless organisation on the night.
It ain’t over yet… Check back soon for the official pics by Andrew Milbourn, and video footage from Roger Murfitt, with final thanks to Armadillo Central for the press campaign and our very own The Fine Line Project team, aka Emma Boden, for organising the whole shebang – what’s next folks? TGIF…
